SOREEL is founded
January 1st 1980
SOREEL (SOciété de Réalisation d’Equipements Electriques) is founded. It focuses on the design and production of low voltage electrical equipment.
July 1st 1985
SOREEL joins MEUNIER Group
July 1st 1985
SOREEL joins MEUNIER group (Brest). Thanks to that, SOREEL starts an evolution that allowed it to be part of the first French switchboard independent manufacturers (not affiliated to an equipment manufacturer). This synergy allowed us to thrive in innovative branches such as embedded software and to comply with the specific requirements of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).

SOREEL joins KOHLER
December 20th 2005
SOREEL joins the KOHLER group along with the energy branch of MEUNIER group. SDMO Industries and BES (Béalas Energie Services) were part of that energy branch.
2007-2009
New plants in Cholet and Dagneux
July 1st 2007
SOREEL starts producing in its Dagneux (01) new plant, near Lyon, to develop the OEM activity in the East of France.
June 18th 2009
SOREEL officially opens its new building in Cholet. This building is located in the industrial area called Le Cormier. It represents the start of a new era for the company.
2013-2016
SOREEL becomes manufacturer with atlant'IS and SO'rail
September 2013
SOREEL becomes manufacturer through the creation of the SO’RAIL range of products, which is dedicated to railway solutions and services.
January 2016
SOREEL strengthens its manufacturer dimension by designing a made in France switchboard answering the needs of its customers in different markets. It is the start of the atlant’IS range of products.
2017
SRI relay protection design
September 2017
To strenghten the SO’RAIL range of products, KOHLER SOREEL designs and produces the SRI (Smart Railway Interface), which is a protection relay.
2019
Creation of a Showroom in Cholet
November 2019
A showroom is added to our Cholet plant to allow us to present and train to our ranges of products.
2021
Launching of our atlant’IS connect smart switchboard
January 2021
Always on the cutting edge of technology, KOHLER SOREEL designs and offers a smart version of its atlant’IS switchboard.
The SCI400 and SCI500 instrumentations allow this connectivity.
2022
KOHLER-SDMO and KOHLER-SOREEL become KOHLER
2022
KOHLER-SDMO and KOHLER-SOREEL are now officially rebranded as KOHLER to offer all the group synergies to our customers.
2023
Extension of our plant in Cholet

The extension of our plant in Cholet adds 1200 m². This will improve the quality of our products and services, as well as lead times.
